We appreciate all the kind words about 12th and Porter. We are sorry people are disappointed. We are disappointed, too. Its hard for people to understand the challenges behind the scenes along with the evolution of Nashville. We truly gave our best. We put in the best sound for the bands and the audiences. We put in the best lighting and a great LED wall to enhance shows. We enhanced the bathrooms and bar. We worked hard to build and rebuild relationships in the music industry and beyond. We put together Music City Breakthrough to truly support bands. We wanted to build a beautiful marquee on the building. When codes wouldnt allow it, we engaged the art community to paint a beautiful mural at the corner of 12th and Porter. That mural is so beautiful. The city laws required us to sell a large amount of food in relation to liquor sales. We put in a restaurant. We did this because we love music, the fans, and the musicians who play 12th and Porter. We added another couple years of life to a great venue. There are thousands of people, staff, musicians, fans, etc... Working incredibly hard that truly made 12th and Porter an impactful and memorable place. We saw the best musicians and artists play to a room of just 15 people and many sold out nights. To be here on a regular basis, you got to see life unfold and too many talented people. 12th and Porter touched a lot of lives. We were touched by the incredible experiences people brought through our doors. When the cost to carry the business exceeds the money coming in, that makes it harder for everyone to give you the best night after night. We did our best to make it the best. Know that every venue and every musician and every engineer and every one is simply trying to make a living doing what they love. Keep supporting the music community, as it continues its complex evolution. Its all perspective. We can chose to celebrate or chose to be bitter. We chose to celebrate 12th and Porter.
