“We are Ambassadors for Christ” (2Corrintians - TopicsExpress

“We are Ambassadors for Christ” (2Corrintians 5:20) Ambassador means faithful representative. That you are in a country that is not your own does not make you a representative of your country. To be an ambassador, you must be first, recognized by the authority of your country as a citizen. Secondly, you must believe in the mission of your country; thirdly, the ruling authority must send you. The ‘for’ in this context, means in favour of; it also means, in line with a given and clear mandate. Every genuine Christian is an ambassador for Christ Jesus. As ambassadors, our daily objective should be to realize Christ’s mandate. Christ mandate is simple and clear – to depopulate hell and increase the number of people that goes to God’s kingdom on a daily bases. As representatives of Christ, who have interest and belief in the realization of our set target we must preach the word in both literal, spiritual and physical means. Literally, we must tell people about Christ’s death, resurrection and its implication in the impending judgment of God. In preaching the gospel, we must do it as an all-important work, targeted at ensuring that souls come to God. We must love the people even though they appear to be in their sinful state. We should see the possible transformation the Holy Spirit is capable of effecting in their lives through the message of love we preach to them. Spiritually, we should pray for God’s intervention in their situations. We should pray that the grace of God that turned us from sinners to saints should reach them also. We should also demonstrate the faith and power of Jesus Christ. Let people know that the word we preach is life and power. If anyone is sick or has peculiar challenge, pray for such ones. Physically, your attitude is also important. He who belongs to a different kingdom should behave differently to please the authority that sent him. Remember, an ambassador’s reward does not come from the country where he resides. It comes from the authority he represents faithfully. You are a different man or woman in a different land. Always look-up to your country; always look-up to heaven and the day you will be welcomed back home with honour and crowns. Worthy of note is the fact that the gospel is preached through almost every known means of communications but it is very painful that so many people still die in their unrepentant state. As ambassadors, we should not loss hope, we should keep pressing on, so that, somehow, we can change the eternal destiny of a few. Remember that when a sinner dies, he definitely realizes the reality of the gospel and the genuine nature of hell but he does not have the power or opportunity to change his destiny. Help him or her now to change his eternal destiny. YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE, SO BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY Love from the Evangelist
