Once again my team (and I this time!) will be attending another Dogmanship course this weekend with Chad Mackin as we continue our education on what makes dogs tick (no pun intended) and how to best handle their individual needs and behaviors. I am very proud that so many of my team members are dedicated to taking the extra time to expand on their craft while helping maintain the safety factor at A Fox & Hounds. This workshop will reveal a model of behavior and learning that is simple and at the same time far reaching. With this behavior model, we will learn to unravel many complex issues in a short period of time. Heck Ill even be able to handle that ferocious pit bull (my 10 lb. cairn terrier x) that my neighbor thinks is going to get out of my yard and attack her grandchildren! Topics include: • The roots and causes of aggression, and how to relieve them. • The truth about the social nature of dogs, and how it affects us. • The secrets of de-stressing an anxious dog. • Gaining and maintaining trust. • Non-threatening results based handling. • Listen with the leash, and using the right tool for the right job. • Utilizing constant communication. • How dogs teach, and how dogs learn. • Creating compliance by avoiding resistance. • Creating a cooperative mind (get the mind and the body follows). • The most destructive and common myths about dog behavior. Chad is a former President of The International Association of Canine Professionals, as well as the current Director of Training for A+ Dog Obedience in Webster, TX. He has presented on Pack To Basics at the IACP Conference in Hutto TX, and at National K-9 school for dog trainers, as well as private facilities across the US and in Canada. If you are interested in learning more about his offerings, please see his website for more information: PacktoBasics. You can also join his on-line community at: facebook/Pack-to-Basics
