We are back after 4 weeks in Europe and a week in New York City on the way home. Great time....Went to Alsace (quaint towns and delicious food and wine), Munich (wonderful museums and beer halls and bike/history tours), Austria (love Salzberg and Melk, did some bike riding, great churches and castles), The Austrian Alps (spent time enjoying these terrific mountains, Grossglockner Highway in Hohe Tauern Natl Parkand Hallstatt were highlights), Venice ( surprised how much we enjoyed....very clean...stayed right around corner from San Marco Square at the historic Danieli Hotel), Tuscany (stayed at Gabbiano Winery (an old Beringer work connection) in their castle, ate great food and drank great wine, surprisingly loved the Leaning Tower of Pisa, stayed in San Giminango). Spent time in New York with son Jeff...shows, operas, pizza, Cicrleline cruise, biking the paths on the west side, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge were highlights. No wonder we are exhausted!! Always think of the song Oh its so nice to go travelling...but its oh so nice to come home.
