We are encouraged in scripture to delight ourselves in the Lord, - TopicsExpress

We are encouraged in scripture to delight ourselves in the Lord, and he will give us the desires of your heart. When the lord spoke this to the Psalmist, he was speaking to him about our new heart that God would give us when we repent with Godly sorrow and believe on Jesus Christ. We are to live in the Vine of Christ. We abide in Christ and he abides in us. The Father purges our branch and we bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. And we are encouraged through scripture to not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself, sufficient for the day is its own trouble. This passage of scripture is so meaningful. One day at a time in Christ Jesus is how we are to live. We are to believe and trust in Gods goodness each new day. The Thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I come that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10. Why does sinful man not have an abundant life. He doesnt have an abundant life because his mind is carnal and his heart is stoney. An abundant life only comes through having a personal relationship with the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. The Spirit gives life to our spirit and our heart is transformed into a new heart of flesh. We now have a contrite spirit towards God. We are born from above. Born again! Sadly, many who have invited Jesus Christ to come into their hearts are not living an abundant life in Christ. Here is why? A man must fully comprehend in their heart that Jesus Christ is your life. Unless Jesus becomes your life and you die to your former man, you will rebuild the things that you destroyed when you invited Christ into your heart. Galatians 2:18, For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Jesus said you must take up your cross and follow me. In early Roman history the cross was a symbol of death. A seed of corn must die before it bears fruit. Therefore, we must die to our former man to find our new life in Christ. Your inner man is clothed and hidden in Christ. Your inner man delights in Christs commandments. The bible clearly says in John 15;5, apart from me you can do nothing. Jesus is saying when you do things in the flesh, without the Holy Spirit working in and through you, you can do nothing that has eternal significance. It may have earthly value but not heavenly value. God has prepared our work in advance for us to do. If we abide in Christ we will bear much fruit and if we continue to obey Christ God will continue to purge our branch. Once you find your inner man feed your inner man the word of God and be a doer of the word of God. Spend time with the Lord daily in prayer and worship and praise as this feeds your inner man. We strengthen our inner man by keeping our eyes on Jesus. If we seek ye first the Kingdom of God we will always put God first instead of our flesh. Stay in prayer and ask the Lord to renew your mind so that your mind will be transformed by him and you will know what the perfect will of God is for you.
