We are excited to confirm that we have 38 dancers signed up to participate in the Hyde Park Santa Claus Parade with NLDC, as well as 8 parent volunteers to walk the parade with us. A reminder that participants MUST attend the rehearsal on Sunday, November 24th 11 am - 1 pm where they will learn 3 combos for the parade: a stationary combo, a travelling combo, and a combined stationary & travelling combo! The Parade begins at Sherwood Forest Mall (marshaling area) & travels west on Gainsborough ending just a tad west of Hyde Park Road. We havent received our official arrival time from the parade organizers, however please plan on arriving at 9:30 am on parade day: Saturday, November 30th. A few more reminders… Please note that there is no transportation back to Sherwood Forest Mall at the end of the Parade so everyone will have to make arrangements in advance on how to get back there if they have left their vehicle at the mall. (Of course, we will all be staying together as a group at the end of the parade route until all of the dancers have been picked up.) The Hyde Park Santa Claus Parade hires a photographer and does post pictures of the floats and participants. If your dancer participates, you are also consenting to allowing them to be photographed. What will my dancer wear? Well, that will be somewhat weather dependant! They are presently calling for mainly sunny and 4 degrees for parade day. We plan to decorate the participants with garland around their buns, Santa hats, reindeer antlers, et cetera. We will decide more on this at the rehearsal, however here is a list of the base items that we are asking everyone to wear: Black dance or yoga pants (with another layer underneath if its extra cold) Black top - could be your NLDC jacket, black sweater, with multiple layers underneath for warmth Black or white scarves, mittens, ear bands etc We are looking forward to this fun event & showing our community spirit with our dancers! ow.ly/qUeTJ
