We are going to kick off the Holiday Season, with a return to the beautiful Alhambra Palace Restaurant on WEDNESDAY, (thats right, our new day will be Wednesdays, NOT THURSDAYS), WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2013, with our 3rd annual AFTER WORK NETWORKING & STEPPERS HOLIDAY FOOD & TOY DRIVE. Each year I ask the Steppin community, to come together and help less fortunate families, to celebrate a joyous and Blessed Christmas, with food and toys. All food and toys will benefit the Bishop Paul j Halls Community Center, located on Chicagos south side. I was saddened when I saw Bishop Paul J Hall year after year, fasting over the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, in order so families who need food, toys and clothing, could receive it from caring citizens. His sacrifice touched my heart and I asked how I could be of assistance in a big way? Last year, the Chicago Steppers brought tears to his eyes ( and mine too!) with their very giving spirit. The stage at the Alhambra Palace was filled with great toys and non-perishable foods. They gave not one or two cans, ( which earned them a discount on admission), but some brought cases of canned goods. In fact, I had to ask many men attending the event, including Gil Walker and John Muhammad, to stop dancing and help bring the food and toys from the door onto the stage. Reverend Jesse Jackson,Chris Arnold, of the Temptations and Marshall of the Chi-Lites, all were amazed at the amount of food the Steppers brought. So this year, I hope and Pray, we can give even more! Were going to have a great time and at the same time helping so many others. It doesnt get any better than that!
