ROLE OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES Automation Engineer is a second-tier service delivered by a Parallels Automation Support Team. The Engineer responds to Service Requests created by the customers for supported countries in response for technical support submitted via phone, web and chat. 2. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES The Automation Engineer is responsible for: • Team’s Performance Expectation • Support Parallels product through excellent technical skills aiding customers in solving technical problems • Responsible for overall customer management skills; customers are contacted promptly and frequently as required till resolution met • Manage virtuous time management skills; managing team’s backlog, correctly set customers’ expectations, customers updates and incident status efficiently • Exercise excellent customer service while delivering outstanding technical support on the following domain: Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Family Knowledge in Linux platforms Knowledge of Linux server distributions Knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP Knowledge of DNS and domain registration and administration Knowledge of networking concepts Knowledge of web servers, Apache and IIS Knowledge of database servers, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MS SQL and SQL queries Knowledge of ftp servers Knowledge of SSL Certificates Knowledge of internet technologies and hosting Knowledge in diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Basic knowledge of billing principles – subscriptions, documents (order / invoice / payment / adjustment), credit card transactions, reseller ship 3. QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Essential: Diploma / Advanced Diploma/ Degree in Engineering or IT related subject Desirable: MCP certifications, RHCE, LPI Excellent English Communication skills 3- 5 years working in relevant experience will be an added advantage
