We are home! You saw all my updates for the Seattle part of our trip but guess what happened on the Alaskan part?!?.......well, we had NO RAIN at all, blue skies, and temps in the 70s. It was amazing. Bruce wore shorts every day but one. Bailey wore a tank top in Ketichikan. I took pictures of the sun shining in the sky. I broke a sweat while ziplining. So so so many people we encountered boasted about that particular days weather and this happened each day. The captain of the ship made a comment that this was more like a Bahamian cruise. Kids swam in the pools on deck every day. The cruise director said the previous cruise (1 week prior to ours) had rain every day and ours was a complete turnaround. We were SO LUCKY! The day we cruised through Tracy Arm was cold but still sunny and so the pictures are great. I cant say enough about the service on the ship (it was Disney so that says it all anyway). Our tablemates were another family of 4 with a daughter Baileys age and a 12-year old son who needs to become a comedian. They added so much to our trip. We were pulled by a team of 16 sled dogs and later played with their puppies. Bailey and I zipped across the tree tops and survived! We saw whales do bubble feeding and I got pictures like the ones you see on a post card. We saw a whale breach - like Shamu - all the way out of the water - no more than 30 yards from our boat on our whale watching excursion. This was amazing and apparently is very rare for people to see in the wild. We also saw bears in the wild (a mother and 2 cubs) on our wildlife excursion. We fed reindeer and watched a man carving a totem pole. We viewed 2 glaciers and saw the ice (which was a beautiful blue color) floating in the water nearby. I cant say enough about the trip. It was awesome! I didnt, however, do any laundry while we were gone! So guess what today holds for me!?! Haha!
