We are in the process of accepting nominations for the Edgar Fellows program at the University of Illinois, and I am inviting Facebook friends to nominate one or more candidates for consideration. The nominating process is relatively simple. If you are interested in nominating someone, shoot me an email at mikelawrence64@gmail, and I will provide you immediately with a brochure that explains the program and the process. As many of you know, I have been involved for a couple of years. The program, spearheaded by Governor Edgar, brings together 40 emerging leaders from communities throughout Illinois -- a group diverse politically, ethnically and geographically -- to network with each other and hear from practitioners and other experts about leadership and major policy issues. We are looking for nominees who already are making their mark in elective or appointive office or in the private and non-profit sectors. We have no firm age restriction, but we use 40 and under as a general guideline.
