We are investigating an assault which happened in Portsmouth. This happened shortly after midnight (Saturday May 3) when a man left the Derby Tavern pub on Stamshaw Road in Portsmouth and was attacked by two men. He was punched and pushed to the ground and repeatedly kicked to the body and face. He later received medical treatment in hospital for the injuries he had sustained. Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Matthew Gamblen said: This is a nasty unprovoked attacked on a man going about his own business. He had spent Friday evening in the pub, before leaving to go home. I would appeal to anyone who may remember this incident or has information about the men involved to contact me on 101 quoting crime reference 44140154424.
