We are just reading of a shark incident in Western Australia. We understand it occurred today. The victim survived but suffered severe trauma to both arms. We understand a 3 to 4 meter pointer has been caught and the authorities intend to destroy it. We have to ask a few questions regarding this action by the authorities. If the shark had intended on attacking the victim in order to eat, it would have killed him. The fact that the swimmer survived is testimony to the shark mistaking him for food. So why are the authorities giving this shark the death penalty for it doing what sharks do in sharks own territory? Our second question has to be how are they so sure that the shark they have caught is the same one?... If they do destroy it are they likely to open its stomach to find the victims hands? We apologies if this seems overly graphic or emotional. It cannot however be denied the victim had chosen the sharks domain to entertain himself in. Killing this shark is going to answer or solve nothing. A very sad and tragic event all round. mobile.news.au/national/western-australia-shark-attack-victim-loses-both-his-arms/story-fncynjr2-1227077800682
