We are living in the oddest of times. Our society is on the brink of so many simultaneous modifications. For example, we read about scorpion venom inserted into cabbage (to kill bugs), eel genes inserted into salmon (for profitable growth enhancement), bizarre animal parts surgically placed in humans, or micro machines drifting inside our cells.
