We are not all so fortunate as to love what we do every day. We are not all so fortunate as to have a job, or to have a job that brings out the best in us. We are not all so fortunate as to have colleagues with smarts in spades, but with compassion and conviction, to boot. We arent all so fortunate to love where we work. But Gloria Borges absolutely was, as an associate--and a darn good one--at OMelveny & Myers. Simply put, I love my firm, she wrote in 2010. Ive always wanted to be a lawyer (Im pretty sure I made that decision when I was about 11 or 12), and OMelveny is a place where passionate lawyers thrive. In my three years of practice, Ive been presented with incredible learning opportunities and have loved every second of my job. Even when work is crazy and Im balancing a bunch of things at once and giving up nights and weekends to work my butt off, Im a happy camper because, most of the time, it doesnt ever feel like work. Working at OMelveny is, for me, living the dream. Without a doubt, Gloria Borges was a dream come true for OMelveny as well. And the OMelveny family rallied around her, before and after her diagnosis. Their support of Gloria has extended to her efforts to end colon cancer, in tremendous ways. That generosity and that heart will be evidence once again this weekend, as OMelveny & Myers LLP sponsors the 2nd Annual Tee Off Against Cancer. So thank you, OMelveny, for all youve done and continue to do for Wunderglo. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
