We are now able to put an end to the bone jarring rock hard ride you often get with Hydragas cars caused by Nitrogen loss from the displacers which can happen over a very long period of time, we have to remember that these units are way past their design life. This problem can even occur with new old stock units straight out of the box. As far as we know no-one else is offering this service in the UK. Attached is a photo of a Hydragas Displacer ready for re-gassing by Ian. Firstly the displacer was stringently tested on the test rig we made especially for this purpose, it was tested at 300 psi to make sure there were no leaks in the unit. The rivet on the gas reservoir was then drilled out and what was left of the old gas released, very little was left in this particular unit. A special collar was then welded to the gas reservoir and a special high pressure valve screwed in. The gas reservoir was then tested with 150 psi air pressure and the unit completely immersed in water to make sure there were no leaks anywhere on the displacer including a leak through to the fluid chamber. We can turn these around within a few days.
