We are now in the last leg of the general election cycle. I - TopicsExpress

We are now in the last leg of the general election cycle. I have noticed how few invitations there have been to meet & greet events. And I have noticed there is apparently no plan for a televised debate, as we had last year in Cape Girardeau. At this late hour, no, none, not one, major radio station has called for an interview. One or two have offered paid ads, but that is all. In fact, a local radio station called to offer me a good deal to advertise for business purposes, then told me I couldnt have the same rate for a political ad -thats a higher rate. Said they would have someone call back -didnt. So far there has been one public forum, thanks the the League of Women Voters. Turnout was low in comparison with last year. There will be one more public forum hosted by the Cape County TEA Party; last I knew, the incumbent was uncommitted. There will be one more Meet and Greet in Dexter. And there will be a Townhall meeting in Thayer, to which, the last I knew, the incumbent was uncommitted. I have set up a booth at several special events throughout this campaign cycle and Ive noticed a high degree of apathy. The few people who will engage are upset with government and whichever major party they have been affiliated with. Yet few, so few, will take any action. I expect a low voter turnout, at least in this District. When will more patriotic citizens step into the fray? I wish I knew. One thing I do know. When the time does come, there must be a remnant ready. Continue to march. Though we sometimes get dejected, we must get back on our feet, and continue to march. If we do not, and if we cannot convince our neighbors to join us in restoring Constitutionally limited government, it is our children and grandchildren who will pay the price. Continue to march fellow patriots. Continue to march.
