We are often disappointed when movies depicting biblical stories and experiences dont translate well on the big screen. Quite possibly, though, we should change our expectations. The bible never pretends to be a screenplay or a script for future movies. Rather, it is a divine narrative that tells us the story of Gods interaction with humanity and their stories. Its a soul-narrative that connects us with Gods Great Big Story of Salvation. So, enjoy the movies but dont expect them to do for you what the divine narrative can do for you.
