We are once again hearing wise words from Dick Cheney, but it is very disturbing that almost 40 Republicans want to do nothing. In opposing all airstrikes they are to the left of Obama, and their position is identical to the House Progressive Caucus. Even ultra-liberal Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is supporting airstrikes. The libertarian lawmakers claim the Islamic State is no threat to the United States. Many people made the same claim about al-Qaeda prior to the 9/11 attack. The budget for the 9/11 attack was less than $400,000, while the Islamic States brings in $4 million/day. We have ignored the Islamic State long enough, and now almost 200,000 are dead, over 630,000 have been wounded and their are 11 million refugees. We need a comprehensive plan.
