We are pleased and honoured to announce our special guest artist Ann Dewey. Ann will be teaching contemporary technique and choreographic workshops during Te Whakakitengā. Ann trained at the National Ballet School of Canada and at Rambert Academy in London. She has performed with many professional companies in the UK and New Zealand, including DV8 Physical Theatre, Douglas Wright Dance Company and Michael Parmenter’s Commotion Company. Ann is one of New Zealand’s foremost contemporary dance teachers and choreographers, creating award-winning dances for her own company Spinning Sun, teaching within education projects in Auckland schools and with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Ann has also written a contemporary dance syllabus currently being taught throughout New Zealand. Due to unforeseen circumstances Malia Johnstone will not be teaching at the festival.
