We are pleased to announce Celeste Friedman of Newark, Ohio is nominated for a Governors Award for Arts in Ohio! In 2005 she was awarded an Ohioana Library Award for music in education for her program O is for Ohio. The old walnut tree song she wrote for Clyde is still shared with our third grade visitors at the museum. Heres a photo of her performance at Clydes Ohio Statehood Day celebration March 1, 2003 in the downtown fire station. Celeste continues to inspire audiences as a musical composer both stateside and on European radio. She has scored numerous compositions for film and television. Celeste is an outstanding song writer, performer, author and untiring advocate for many worthwhile causes. Her latest effort is a book honoring her mother who recently lost her life to cancer. Her lifetime achievements in the arts make her an exceptional nominee in this highly competitive and distinguished award category of individual artist and we wish her all the best!
