We are pleased to announce that McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago is searching for a professor in OT/Hebrew Bible. McCormick Theological Seminary, a seminary of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with Reformed, ecumenical, cross-cultural, and urban commitments, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning in the Fall of 2014. We seek candidates with research doctorates in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible who are particularly interested in African-American, Latino/a, and/or Asian-American hermeneutics. Candidates should demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching. Candidates should have commitment to preparing people for leadership in ministry. Candidates should be open to interdisciplinary teaching and have experience with technology. A letter of interest, curriculum vitae, detailed descriptions of two proposed courses (one introductory course, the other in an area of specialization), and a writing sample should be sent as an e-mail attachment to Carol Biesadecki, Senior Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs, at [email protected]. The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications on November 4, 2013. Preliminary interviews will be held at the AAR/SBL Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD.
