We have been using OMM backpacks for the last 7 years of adventure racing and we really cannot fault them. Backpacks are such an important part of adventure racing kit and its amazing how attached you get to them during a race – they literally go everywhere with you and its you life support system, carrying everything you need for the race. For shorter, faster races we use the Ultra 12, Ultra 15 and adventure 20 and for really long expedition races and when we are carrying a lot of kit we use the Jirishanca 35. The adventure 20 is the pack we use the most as it is light and generally big enough to hold everything we might. Top 5 features of the Adventure Light: 1. It is super light (480g) without any compromise on strength and durability. 2. It is incredibly comfortable with great shoulder and back padding 3. Its also very easy to use, 2 large zipped waist pockets, 1 good sized zipped top pocket and then a large main body space which is very quick and easy to fill and close up. 4. Easy access water bottle pouches make drinking on the move really easy and fast – you can quickly pull the bottle from the side of the pack and place it back in – it sits tight against the body of the pack and so it doesn’t flap around at all. 5. It drains quickly and drys out fast if it gets wet. For anything but long races where you need to carry large amounts of gear the adventure light 20 is the perfect pack for adventure racing.
