We are pleased to report that we have had a productive dialogue with the medical practice, which you may recall sent a letter to one of our members informing her that the latest treatment guidelines ( which they claimed were endorsed by the PA Society) stated that she no longer needed injections just tablets. On their part it seems a genuine misunderstanding for which they have apologised and we have sent them the revised guidelines which they will be circulating to all their staff. They are also contacting all patients who received the letter to notify them of their error. We are, however, continuing our investigations to determine how this misunderstanding came about to ensure no other practices in the area are reacting in a similar manner to a briefing received at a recent training seminar. We have received no further reports of other members receiving the advice which prompted our investigation, but please do contact us if you do.
