We are pleased to see that Barratt David Wilson have changed the name of their local gap filling site, from Brook Gardens to Upton Brooks. We hope that it celebrates the fact that Mr Upton used the nursery to grow pumpkins for his Slindon venture. We pray that, with BDW being part of the consortium gathered by ADC to develop the 2,000 house new town, we wont be seeing Downton Brooks somewhere south of Woodgate. Or Drownton may be more appropriate.....? It is interesting that one 3 bed house on the Brooks has been bought to let and immediately let for £1300pcm. Not sure if thats affordable housing for anyone but the person who could afford to stump up £300k plus from petty cash to buy it.....?
