We are proud to announce that Terra Preta Farm is now officially certified organic! We have always farmed organically, but now we are certified! After completing many forms, and a 3hour inspection, and paying a certification fee. The lengthy application included a farming history, listing everything that had been applied to the land over the past three years. And our farm was visited for three hours by a very thorough inspector who examined all of our seeds and verified they were untreated and gmo free. She also examined our soil amendments like compost and our organic pest control products one by one. Our water supply was reviewed for safety too. She also reviewed our Organic System Plan and our knowledge of organic farming.
