We are rightly mourning the death of 13 young Eritrea around Karora! How many are dying on their way, in prisons and detention camps? Only God knows! Those who don’t dare to ask Why (did this happen), When, By Whom, Where and what has the government did to prevent this tragedy? And why did the government waited so long to inform the parents of the deceased? Eritreans who don’t dare to ask this can better count themselves as the living dead. Today it is the children of other parents; tomorrow the same lot will befall our own children, unless we open our mouth while it is not too late. I really don’t and I don’t want to judge them, but maybe these parents were silent while children of other Eritreans disappeared or gunned down. Some three days ago I called a friend in Amsterdam To wish him Merry Christmas and Happy New Year He told me heart-breaking news he heard from his brother in Canada Parents, EPLF-fighters, have lost three daughters while fleeing Eritrea The bodies more than 10 children were found in ditches somewhere between Eritrea and Sudan The brother called Amsterdam after paying a visit to the mother, a former EPLF-fighter who left a war-disabled husband back home, to help her daughter give birth to a new life… while three lives of her daughters were gunned down in Karora at the Sudanese-Eritrea border: Ariam, Rita, Hossana; all three under nineteen The parents fought their whole life for the independence and liberty of whole Eritrea (not for kebessa alone, not for metahit alone, not for Muslims alone, not for Christian alone, not for one region alone, not for one religion alone, not for one ethnicity alone; No! They fought for whole Eritrea! Where are they who tell us: you are the backbone of the totalitarian system in Eritrea?) I was astounded when I heard this sad story! I was astounded “Hosanna!a ” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” is gone Rita, pearl is gone Ariam is from heaven Who is responsible? Who killed them? Why? When were they killed? Why are the family informed few days before Christmas? What about the other 10 children who were killed at the same time with Hossana, Rita and Ariam; all three sisters from one family? Why is the Government media and websites that support the regime including meskerem.net silent as the grave of Hossana, Rita, Ariam and the other 10 children? Is the name of the regime more important than the lives of these children and the sorrow of the family? Why, when and how are very important and these questions should be asked before passing any judgement. However, the regime is responsible for creating the atmosphere for young Eritreans to flee their beloved country. The regime is responsible for failing to secure their safety. The regime is responsible for ignoring the plight of these victims like the victims in Lampedusa and in the Mediterranean Sea. For now I will use the following hymn by the late Aboy Woldeab Woldemariam to send my heart-felt condolences to the family of the 13 children. Ariam is the name of the three, and Aboy Woldeab Wrote a hymn using Ariam: መዝምሩ 220 ካብ መዝሙር ሰላም ብነብሰሄር ኣቦይ ወልድኣብ ወልደማርያም ኣምላኻዊ ጸዳል፡ ካብ ኣርያም ካብ ሰማያት፡ ኣብ ልበይ ዕሰል፡ ልኣኸለይ መንፈስካ። ናይ ድኻታት ኣቦ፡ መንፈስካ ልኣኸለይ፡ ሰላም ሃበኒ፡ ንኣይ ጥፉእ ወድኻ። ካብ ሓጥያት ሀዲመ፡ እምዕቖብ ናብ ሓልዮትካ፡ ካብቲ ድኻመይ፡ ክዓርፍ ኣብ ሰላምካ። ናይ ዘልኣለም ብርሃን፡ መገደይ ኣብርሃለይ፡ ክኣቱ ድሓን፡ ኣብ ናይ ዘልኣለም ዓደይ። ኣብ ጸምጸም በረኻ፡ ናባኻ ናብ መድሕነይ፡ ኣብቲ ሕቑፍኻ፡ ለውሃትካ ይመርሓኒ። ብሓይለይ ናብ ጽድቒ፡ ነይበጽሕ ኣብ እምነትካ፡ ኣብ ህይወት ሓቒ፡ ኣብቲ ፍጹም ሰላምካ። ህይወተይ ንኣኻ፡ ንኣኻ ንእስነተይ ኩሉ ንኣኻ፡ ናይዛ ምድሪ ንብረተይ። ወ፡ ወ። (ወልድኣብ ወልደማርያም) May God give these 13 young Eritrea eternal peace and may God comfort their parents, siblings, family and friends as only God can?
