We are sending a load of clothing, shoes, blankets and much needed items to the Appalachia Mountains with a Missionary that is going there to help the extreme poor. If you have never seen or witnessed the way the precious souls live you would fall on your knees giving praise for all you have and God has blessed you with. Most of the families live in shanties...struggle each day to survive and praying they will make it another day. Mothers cry because they cant feed their precious babies or children. They weep because they cant not give them the simplest things in life we take for granted each day. Warm clothing, shoes, food or a warm roof over their heads. These precious mothers pray their spouses and loved ones will come home each night from the mines...and many are widows who lost their husbands in a mining accident. Those who have worked in the mines for years have lung disease that will eventually take their lives. Mining is the only job in these remote areas and for generations families have depended upon working in the coal mines to just get by. As we envy all the items we see and dont have but want, they pray they will be able to put food on the table...too many nights their children go to bed hungry...sleeping in beds without proper blankets and huddling in front of the pot belly stove to try to stay warm. God has blessed us richly...and too many times we become selfish and want more and more without stopping and considering the thousands and thousands of babies and children who are racked with hunger, living in conditions where they stuff ole rags in the windows and cracks in their home to keep the very cold weather out. These precious souls have true needs and dream of a better life to come. I plead unto you to stop and consider their pain, suffering and struggles they face each day. The tears and heartache the mothers go through as she faces the fact there is nothing in the cabinets to feed her children or just give them the simple things we take for granted each and everyday. We grew up poor, hungry many times, not having proper warm clothing or never knowing what suffering the day will begin. Many of my beloved friends know that suffering and pain also...and the tears our mothers cried when she could not feed us. Wants are lusting after something you dont have...needs are the basics that keep a soul alive. Stop, think and consider all these things the next time you ask for things that are wants...and praise God you have what you need each day to survive. In the precious name of Jesus I pray for these precious souls and their daily suffering and struggles...and I praise God for what we have been blessed with. Praise the Lord for all that you have and cleanse your hearts from the things you want which are not necessary in your life.
