Thank you ShoppersChoice, LLC In response to an urgent need by the Youth Oasis Childrens Shelter, ShoppersChoice, LLC will donate and install a new refrigerator, electric range oven, and a Blaze outdoor gas grill at the facility on Tuesday, December 16th. Along with the donation of new appliances, several ShoppersChoice employees will also be providing a meal, homemade desserts, and a variety of gifts for the young residents. “Its heartbreaking to think that some of these children will spend the entire holiday season away from family and friends,” says ShoppersChoices CEO Corey Tisdale. “So we simply want to help restore a bit of the magic of season to a few kids who really deserve it.” The Youth Oasis organization is one of only two emergency Childrens Shelters left in the state that houses children in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). Their mission is to provide emergency shelter, food, clothing and other support to at-risk youth with the ultimate goal of reuniting the children with their families or find permanent placement. “When we found out that some of the appliances at the Basic Center were failing and in dire need of replacement, we wanted to help them solve that problem by making sure they had quality equipment that would ensure they stayed in compliance with state regulations,” said Tisdale. Rafael de Castro, Executive Director for Youth Oasis, believes this type of corporate support is essential for the organization to continue its mission. “These days, state resources can be scarce, so we appreciate any and all support from local companies and other community organizations.” The Baton Rouge-based national retailer, ShoppersChoice, LLC was established in 1998 as the parent company to several online retail websites, including BBQGuys and UltimatePatio. The company also has a local destination-style Kitchen & Patio Showroom on Coursey Boulevard in Baton Rouge.
