We are so happy to be able to share all these great happy tails! We still have quite a few more to go. Remember Taz?? Taz found herself at a vet in Connecticut with a broken leg after getting hit by a car. She no longer had an owner and was in need of someone to take her in and give her the medical care she needed. Pathway stepped up and so did an amazing foster, who turned into forever for this girl. Twas the night before Christmas, when all through our home not a creature was stirring, ‘cept Taz who did roam. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. Our children were out, God only knows where Enjoying holiday parties without care And Curt in his sweats and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for an empty nester’s nap. When down in the family room there arose such a clatter, We sprang from our bed to see what was the matter. Away down the steps we flew like a flash, Turned on the lights and saw all of our trash The light shining brightly on our dinner debris Made it easy for us to quickly agree,That it was TAZ who had made our peace disappear when, what to our wondering eyes should appear, but our little demon dog, so lively and quick, We knew in a moment it must be a trick. More rapid than eagles, straight at us she came, and we whistled and shouted and called her by name: No Tazzie! No Tazzie! Please don’t jump on me! No Tazzie! No Tazzie! Please don’t hit the tree! Kat’s “babies first ornament” Was no longer a ball!Taz dash away! Dash away! Dash away all! As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky all of our beloved ornaments so they flew, the lights all got smashed and our tree topper too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the gate Yet another doggie barrier meeting its fate. As I drew in my head and was turning around, down the steps our crazy Taz came with a bound. Clenched in her determined jaws was Toby’s new toy, She shot him a look that promised him no joy.Out came the squeaker as she ripped open its back Letting Toby know she’s was leader of this pack. Her eyes--how they twinkled! Her smile, how merry! Her fur like velvet, her tongue like a cherry! Her droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And her sharp little teeth were as white as the snow. The dangling ribbon she grabbed tight in her teeth, Gave it a good yank and down came our wreath. On to Blaine who quickly rolled and showed his belly The big pittie shook, like a bowl full of jelly. Then came our Sierra, the princess herself I laughed when I saw her, in spite of myself. A wink of her eye and a twist of her head soon gave me to know I had a lot to dread. Our good therapy dog, so serious about her work, Was romping with Taz and had turned into a jerk It can’t be denied she brings a lot of strife But we love every day she’s in our life So a big Thank you, thank you to all at Pathway For saving her life and bringing her here to stay Love our Tazmanian Devil with all of our might! Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
