We are so thankful as this evening ends that both of the babies are currently stable. Ellanie is still very sick but there was a small bit of breakthrough today. They have been able to slowly and very slightly wean her on her life support. Her blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels are all in a better place than they were 24 hours ago. We also received great news from her brain scan that her bleeding has disappeared! The Dr thought it was a mistake at first because she said that its nearly impossible. We just smile because it is impossible...which reminds us that only God can receive the credit for it. Her digestive tract is still very sick and infected but her white blood cell count has gone up significantly which means her body is starting to fight it. She is still losing platelets at a dangerous rate but we are praying that her body is using them to fix the problems in her belly. God knows and were trying to rest in that. Malachi had a pretty good afternoon. His lungs are very sick which makes his oxygen levels go alarmingly low but thankfully it has been more controllable these last few hours. He also had a brain scan. His bleeding did not disappear but it has not gotten any worse. That is very good news! The Dr was concerned that since he is also losing platelets without any apparent reason, that maybe his brain had started to bleed again. It has been such a roller coaster these days. Its sometimes hard to even know how to pray. Thank you all so much for your encouragement and prayers. You have helped us find strength when we feel like we cant stand and see hope when it appears there is none to be found. God is using you to bless us...so Thanks! We cant tell you how much it means to us!
