We are surely honored by the effort to dance Kopacka, and even to teach others to dance it.... But we strongly recommend this video as a VERY BAD example of how things are ought not to be done. The source material shown on this video is not even 10% close to its original form of the dance Kopacka. Here we will point to the most excessive and disturbing aspects of mistakes made by the effort shown on the video: 1-st: Kopacka is played on drums rhythm, 2-nd: these are not parts of Kopacka dance, 3-rd: the steps of Kopacka have their very significance in correlation of a every days life of people from the region of Pijanec, and they are not just steps, to be performed, just as a mechanical order of things, 4-th: there are different parts in and different sensibility in the male and female Kopacka dance, 5-th: The whole dance is a natural order of many significant parts of performed actions that are not to be done separably from one another. The order of the dance players, their capability, their physical condition, the expression on their faces, their uniforms and accessories.... The drums, the meaning of the rhythm its self... And than comes the dance movements and elements that are derived by the very existence in the every day activities, established from the elder days of existence in the Pijanec region. There fore We strongly recommend every effort of performing Kopacka to be done very carefully and with dignity. Every effort to teach others to dance Kopacka should be done by people who actually knows to do that. The beauty of the Kopacka dance is undeniable but ONLY in its original form. Every variation of the dance is just a shallow replica of the real thing!
