We are three quarters through the Season and while some podium - TopicsExpress

We are three quarters through the Season and while some podium positions have already been confirmed … many are not. Record numbers across some of the classes made this our 2nd biggest turnout for the year. With only three rounds to go who’s it going to be holding those trophies at the end of the year. Buggy With Proline running next month Taree had some big name drivers in town for the lead up event, with the likes of Dallas Gardener, KC Shaw and Darren Pryor the local top guns of Steep, Richardson and Patterson were expected to step up. Showing his Mugen still has the pace, Jono Steep from 2nd on the grid didn’t disappoint, putting a lap on 2nd and taking a comfortable win from Dallas. Special mention goes out to Johnny Ford, putting his TLR 3.0 in third spot with a near faultless drive against a strong field; this also bumps Johnny into outright 3rd on the points ladder, best result of his career to date. Truggy Despite Proline and local young gun Daniel “Mr Truggy” Richardson taking the heats and final, Steven “Butch” Patterson wasn’t far behind all day pushing his AKA’s to the limit. John Kelly with his shiny new Mugen was left devastated after the first heat after a Nitro driver took to his EP by shunting him into the pit ramp shattering his car, as they say accidents happen but when its Nitro on EP, XRay on Mugen and Taree on Port the conspiracy theories come into play; regardless, well played Dan. After a rebuild JK was back in action and took 3rd overall. EP8 AKA and Port Macquarie Driver, David Ford was looking to wrap up the title. Despite experiencing mechanical difficulties that resulted in a 5th place finish, enough had been done over the year to secure the EP8 Crown. John Kelly and Kev Regan were ready to take advantage over David’s misfortune in there new Mugen MBX7 eco’s. Both drivers managed a 1st and 2nd in the two final legs, it came down to the fastest final time across both legs with JK doing enough to take the win with Ian Lapian securing the final podium position. 1/10 Electric A growing class of the future, two new drivers took to the track with Short Course Trucks along with two others in Stadium Trucks. Sharing the lead for much of the day Mitch Eade and John Kelly in there Tekno SCT’s dominated with their 4wd’s. Guy Robinson in his 2wd came in a solid third. Another great round has been ran and won, thanks to everyone that attended, ran the day or did some work on the track. Club days and racing in general has a much better atmosphere with more drivers/cars, it means we can run more heats and have drivers skill levels better matched up through A and B groups. Talk to your mates, chase up old members and let’s get more and more people coming along. Remember, more drivers = more money, more money = better track, better track = better lap times. Race Ya
