We are very excited to welcome Victoria Vazquez Ph.D. as our new Program Coordinator! Victoria brings excellent experience and knowledge in program management and environmental studies research, education, and outreach. Victoria comes to us from Naples, Florida where she was the Research Coordinator at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Victoria supervised a team of scientists studying water quality, beach-nesting birds, sea turtles, fish, and sharks. She also focused on science communication for lay audiences. Victoria obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia for her research on Factors Affecting Susceptibility to Chytridiomycosis, which involved field collection and experiments with the Peruvian marsupial frog, the American bullfrog, the southern grey-cheeked salamander, and the seal salamander. Previously, Victoria was the Conservation Medicine Program Officer at Wildlife Trust, where conservation programs involved the links between animal, human, and ecosystem health, with an emphasis on marine mammals and sea turtles. Victoria also has an M.S. from the Center for Animals and Public Policy at Tufts University. Please join us in welcoming Victoria to the MES Program!
