We are very proud of Mr. Randy Langley, who recently tested for his 3rd Degree Black Belt at Asheville Sun Soos August testing. Mr. Langley was one of Asheville Sun Soos first students, joining the school about six months after its birth (Jan. 2007). Mr. Langley STARTED his Taekwon-do practice at the age of 65!!! In the 7 1/2 years that Mr. Langley has maintained his practice, he has not merely amassed time in rank he has actually attended over 1,300 classes, amassing more than 1,600 practice hours in official classes in addition to countless hours of practice outside the dojang on his own time. Last month, at almost 73 YEARS YOUNG Mr. Randy Langley tested for his 3rd Dan. Among the many skills demonstrated that day, Mr. Langley performed ALL of his patterns through 2nd Dan, about 50 1-steps - against both a right handed as well as left-handed punch (all in under 5 minutes), demonstrated his ability to escape from about a dozen common grabs and holds, free-sparred and successfully broke boards using six different hand and foot techniques. Mr. Langley is an excellent practitioner and exemplary student epitomizing perseverance and indomitable spirit. Mr. Randy Langley represents himself, his family, his school - Asheville Sun Soo, Taekwon-Do International and the art of Traditional Taekwon-Do with honor, dignity and excellence!
