We are very proud of how many Benton Cove Opti sailors made the trip out to California Yacht Club for the USODA Nationals!! We were actually one of the biggest teams in attendance just in sheer numbers. The team, led by Head Opti Coach Joakim Karlsen and Emma Geary, had three sailors who were strong competitors in Gold Fleet - Tommy Whittemore, Ben Rosenberg and Riley Kloc. Tommy finished 7th overall! We had several great individual races from Shea and Huck in Silver Fleet with a few top 4 finishes. Their improvement through the event was clear. Most importantly, 10 out of 13 sailors qualified for 2015 USODA Team Trials in Miami, FL. This was a major goal for many of our sailors. Congratulations to all for making it! It was a fantastic Nationals for the Brenton Cove Opti Race Team. -7th at Team Race Nationals -Sophie finished 2nd in white fleet at Girls Nationals -Tommy had a great individual result of top 10 (this is big)! -And most importantly, 10 out of 13 qualify for Team Trials. This was Bens first time at USODA Nationals.
