We can confirm that following a two vehicle collision involving a blue MAN Slideback Recovery Vehicle and a grey Mini Cooper S convertible yesterday that the single occupant of the Mini, believed to be a male in his twenties, died at the scene. The collision happened on the B9016 Keith to Buckie road, approximately two miles from Aultmore, on Tuesday [June 10, 2014] at around 4pm. Next of kin have been informed and the man will be formally identified in due course. To allow for collision investigation and road repairs it is anticipated that the road will remain closed until tomorrow [Thursday, June 12, 2014]. Sgt David Pirie, from the Aberdeenshire and Moray Road Policing Unit, said: This was a tragic incident resulting in the death of a local man and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are continuing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw either of the vehicles involved to come forward. I would also ask anyone who has any information which would assist our investigation to get in touch.
