We can only escape from European power by developing an AFRICAN-CENTERED CONSCIOUSNESS, based on AFRICAN-CENTERED VALUES. Since consciousness and values guide behavior if that consciousness and those values are your own, people with another consciousness and values cannot control you. Europeans recognize that their whole social order is built upon the consciousness and values that they’ve inculcated into African people. This means that if Africans begin to follow the lead of African-centered consciousness and values, the social order that is built upon us having a Eurocentric consciousness will collapse and fall apart.
