We choose not to focus on the injustice of it all. Harpo and Honor (as well as Eileen and Felicia) came to us from Operation Broken Chain in 2012. Their abusers finally stood in court today and, though we hear the court was moved by the pictures of Honor and Harpo, the punishment for their abusers was not nearly what they deserved. We choose not to dwell on that. Instead, we focus on the love and care these dogs have received from the time they were rescued by Animal Rescue Corps and brought here to us. They have left the past behind. And while we will continue to fight for stiffer penalties, we cannot dwell on the injustices of today. We cry...and move on...and fight on.
