We concluded our Grand Finals last night. After our two 5pm games - TopicsExpress

We concluded our Grand Finals last night. After our two 5pm games which were Junior A and Junior B, we had the womens comp. Fairhills vs Phantoms. Tale of the tape: Fairhills were the top of the table after the regular season and the Phantoms were second. The semi was a 5 setter, with phantoms up 2-0 then losing in 5. The Phantoms then had to play Sisu in the Preliminary final and would win that one in 5 sets. The rematch would begin. The first set would see the Phantoms get out to a quick start through Keely Pope and Brittany Baker with some very good placement on attack. Tarsh Baker and Hannah Baker would do all they can. But Phantoms would go on to win the first set 25-22. The second set would see Fairhills come out with a strong attacking mindset behind Maddie Buckley. But the phantoms defence would match it all the way through Nekaela Butler and Becky Schmidt. The Phantoms girls would go on to win the second 25-22. The third set would see phantoms take off on a quick lead, then unfortunately the Fairhills girls wouldnt be able to get back into it. Losing the third 25-17. The Womens comp has had a really good step up in competition the last two seasons and has become the most even and toughest comp overall. Well done to the 8 teams involved and we hope to see you all again and maybe a few more next season. Our award winners in the womens grade would be: MVP: Delaney Wills Sisu and Ellie Breuer Saints Runner up MVP: Tarsh Baker Fairhills and Kaylee Schmidt Wildcats McIntyre Medal: Maddie Buckley Fairhills, Erika Ritosa Murtoa Dat Ace and Maddison Watts TTF Well done to all the winners, next post will be the photos.
