We condemn the atrocities in Nigeria! If we dont mourn our won, - TopicsExpress

We condemn the atrocities in Nigeria! If we dont mourn our won, who would mourn for us? If gold shall rust, what will iron do? 17 people are murdered by terrorist attacks in France and it is such big news. So, how come 2000 Africans get killed by Boko Haram terrorists and we hear nothing about it? Even Goodluck Jonathan Jonathan, the President of Nigeria thought it fit to condemn the #CharlieHebdo attacks, but pretended as though he needed the permission of his colonial masters in order to mourn his own people! Our own African media practitioners have also been guilty of this sad betrayal of the value of life here in Africa, as they all keep harping on Je suis Charlie! Not a thought spared on the 2000 victims of Boko Haram! The alarming truth that this strange phenomenon highlights is that if our news and what we see, think, and even mourn could be controlled to such an extent by neocolonialism, can we call ourselves as a free people? Food Sovereignty Ghana unreservedly condemns the horrible massacres of the innocent, poor and ordinary people of Baga in Northern Nigeria. And we call on all self-respecting Africans who believe that #BlackLivesMatter, to join us in this condemnation! It is not because these are poor peasants that their tragic and senseless deaths must go down unnoticed! -- For Life, the Environment, and Social Justice!
