We do not always get to spend time each holiday with all of those who mean so much to us. It is no wonder some of us can get caught up in the memories of a time when families lived closer together. I am thinking of we who will honor this day, today, with memories of those no longer with us, as well as creating new memories for those who are. The cycle goes on. We who were children once, caught up in the wonder of this season, now have children of our own, and those children have children of their own. And some of them have children of their own as well. As each new generation grows, the previous ones age. Death comes to us all. Sometimes far too soon. Sometimes it appears as if the timing is cruel and vengeful. Yet Life goes on. I have walked myself to the very edge of that abyss twice in my life. And each time I was turned around through the kind actions of strangers and the memory of the love shown me by friends and family. My heart goes out to all of you, this day and everyday, and I am thankful that each and every one of you, those still here and those who are gone, are in my life. It is a good day.
