We do not know how long we have on this earth. You could be - TopicsExpress

We do not know how long we have on this earth. You could be facing eternity tomorrow, next week, by Christmas. We dont know; we cant assume well live to be 90. Even if you do, where will you be? Sadly, somebody is dying as youre reading this. Do you know the Savior of the World personally? Have you placed your faith in Him or are you placing your faith in something else? Do you think youll be in heaven when you die because youve been good enough, baptized in water, given your money, or are a church member? These things wont get you to heaven. I pray that this finds you with an open heart if youve been living with a void that only Christ can fill. It is simple: You are a sinner, separated from God. We fall short of perfection. (How many times have you heard nobodys perfect?) --The penalty for sin is death. Think of yourself in court; is a judge supposed to give the penalty that fits the crime? God is the perfect judge; He will have the penalty for sin paid. Jesus Christ, a perfect man, Gods son, died on the cross for your sins and rose again--a victor over sin. He did not stay dead as mere man does. His innocent blood on the cross paid for all sins, but the gift must be accepted. (1 Cor. 15:1-9, Rom. 3:23-28, are two places to read.) Just like if somebody gives you a gift for helping them, you can either take it and open it, or you can say, you didnt have to do that and decline. So, too, with Christs offer of salvation; He died for all, but only those that give up their slavery to sin and believe in what He did on the cross and resurrection take God as their Father, receive the Holy Spirit, and citizenship in heaven. If the salvation gift is declined, the person still has to pay the penalty for their sin (eternal separation in hell). By accepting the salvation gift, we respond in obedience to God. We find what He wants us to do by reading the Bible and attending a church that teaches the Word of God. We grow in knowledge and understanding of His Word, not just saved and living as we used to. If you place your faith in Him, you put aside (repent from) sin. Please message me if you have questions.
