We finally (its been open for about a week or two) got to Senor - TopicsExpress

We finally (its been open for about a week or two) got to Senor Salsa (1301 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001) for lunch today. After we experienced some of the complaints we have heard so far (tight parking, confusion in seating us) we settled in for what proved to be an excellent and very reasonably priced lunch. Free chips and salsa (ahem, Derek Robinson) and a $4.99 choose one or $5.99 choose two items express lunch. The choices were all sorts of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tamales, etc. all with tasty rice and beans. We both chose two (of course I did) and all were excelente! Very authentic fare -- this is not ChiChis (not that theres anything wrong with that) -- this feels like an upscale place in Mexico. The rest of the menu looked awesome too. Also, the art and woodwork in the place is stunning, so take a close look when you dine there (the Mayan calendar near the door was painted freehand, Im told). Shout out to the owner who did a generous act on our behalf too, but that has no bearing on this rating, just noting that he seems community oriented. Theres a full bar service, and while not taking advantage today, I did have drinks there the other night with my dear friend Commissioner John Spiegelman and we sampled a variety of margaritas that were also muy bueno. So to sum it up, I will definitely go back.
