We folks our latest project is complete and I can look back on it with pride. It was on all the new stations and we made a huge impact. Jackp3 Today D282/Webb, led by sponsor store 0356 in Shreveport La., Mkt 17, completed a massive 15k district Team Depot project, re-landscaping and Remodeling the REC room for the VOA Embassy House, a former apartment complex purchased last year to provide affordable housing for vets graduating from the local VOA transitional house program. I was the project director and I had some great help from project captains, Janet Wallace, Courtney Hawthorn, Ron Brown, Mary Mary Cummings, Sukey Prothro, along with Valerie and Arron who helped with the pre work the day before. 92 HD volunteers from all 9 stores in D0282, NW La an E. Tx, joined with 38 local volunteers and vets to.....lay 17 pallets of sod, scatter 2 dump truck loads of mulch and 2 loads of top soil, place 1400 block, put out over 300 plants and paint and reface the Rec room , among other task. The weather was perfect and the event made a huge impact on the Vets that live at the facility. City and VOA officials dropped by to see the amazing results. All of them ask the same thing, How and why do you guys do it? It is our values and culture brought to life by our associates who bring hope to their communities and work to serve those who serve our country! It makes me proud to work for a company like Depot. God has put us on this earth to serve him and in turn serve others! It was great to lead a project that honors Him and in the process, is a blessing to others! God bless Jp3
