We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot. These were the words spoken by first lady Eleanor Roosevelt many years ago, and they ring so true now in the face of some events that occured in the Black Community this year. One major event was the Treyvon Martin case which illustrated a much larger issue, and one that has been in existence since slavery and the civil rights movement, and thats the de-valuing of black life. Time after time we see instances were black lives are are not given the same value as that of white america, and whats more important is that we dont value our own lives enough to stop the violence, take responsibility, and to correct what we all know the problems are. It is my hope and prayer that in the coming year, if I am blessed to see it that we make some progress as a people in this city!!! Good Night FB be blessed!!
