We got a great update on Scarlett (formerly known as Dutchess from Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter) from her Forever Foster Family. Her Mom, Carrie, says: Scarlett has had a few firsts this week. She has begun to sleep in a bedroom with the humans rather than sleep alone in the family room. She graduated from her crate and now sleeps free to move about with her brothers when were gone for a few hours. This morning, she learned to beg for me to share treats. I usually dont reinforce this behavior, but for a fearful dog, approaching with her head lifted and searching my eyes for a sign that Ill share was worthy of a reward for bravery. Here she is begging for cheese. Scarlett becomes more confident & happy each day and shes a joy to have in our family.
