We got a question from a reader today about where she could find - TopicsExpress

We got a question from a reader today about where she could find help for a low-income family member who couldnt afford to adequately heat her home. We made some calls, and the most fruitful one was to Central Missouri Community Action. Community services director Angela Hirsch said the organization takes applications for heating assistance. The application is online (showmeaction/services/programs/energy-assistance) and must be submitted to them at 800 N. Providence Road. They will look at factors such as family size and income, and they can help anyone who has a heating source, including people living in trailers. We also found out that some programs, like one at the Boone County Council on Aging, are designed specifically to serve senior citizens. Do you have other suggestions for this reader?
