We got this email the other day, and Ive never dealt with a cat who doesnt like the baby before. Can anyone offer advice on this? I would really like to help keep Nields in his home. Good morning Michelle, Im not sure if you remember but last September we adopted a three year old cat from you guys. We are having some problems with him that we are trying to work through but Im starting to feel a little helpless. First I want to say that he is very sweet when he wants to be. Thats most of the time but since weve had our baby hes progressively become harder to deal with. When he came to us he had crystals in his urine and needed to be out on a special diet for allergies. Things settled down and he seemed to find a nice place in our family until we had our baby. Since then hes become more aggressive, refuses his food (more get visits and more expensive food) and now he is peeing all over the house. I am trying to pay more attention to him, to per him and weve set up space for just him, no kids, but its not working. Hes had urinary infections the whole time hes been with us but has never peed outside of his box. We are going to take him to the vet again but as you can imagine a four month old and this is a lot to deal with. He really is a sweet cat but u dont want him to have a stressful or unhappy life. Im nervous that maybe he needs a kid free house with other cats. Do you have any suggestions? Sorry to unload on you but we arent sure what to do. Thanks so much!
