We had a fox in the yard this early AM. Our ducks and a few hens are completely free range so the predator alarm went up. And Wes and I wandered outside. Since the ducks are almost as heavy as a fox I dont worry about them as I do the chickens. Sure enough it was a lovely fox with a fine long bushy tail. He/she ran up the hill once it saw me. The ducks promptly decided that they would go back to bed... Im sure to contemplate the realities of life and death... Wes didnt get out the door fast enough to see the fox which makes me happy since he would have shot it and I have a different mind set. I know I should think differently but its not in my nature to kill everything that steps on this farm... So the fox lives another day!
