We had a great meeting Tuesday night. There are four things that we need to let everybody know about. First and foremost, Battleground Texas has a phone bank for Senator Davis every Thursday night at the Democratic Party of Collin County (DPCC) headquarters, located at 2504 Ave K, Suite 200 in Plano. RSVP at barbwalters47@gmail. Second, we need to formalize the CCYD constitution and bylaws. Well be sending a copy of each to the email addresses of those who have attended our meetings. If you want to get a copy, send a message to this page with your email address. We will be accepting suggestions for additions or retractions from these documents throughout December and voting on the final version in our January meeting (BTW, no December meeting). We will also be accepting nominations for the following positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer. Voting for those positions will occur at the January meeting as well. Next, we need volunteers for Collin County precinct chairs!!! A precinct chair is essentially the communications and organization officer of their neighborhood. You would be responsible for contacting Democrats in your area based on the Voter Activation Network (VAN) system to share important info and engage them for CCYD and local party events. Last, but not least, we are thinking about throwing a concert in the Spring to benefit Senator Davis, Sameena Karma and Bonnie Goldstein in their 2014 campaigns. To do this, well need some help. High school and collegiate CCYD members, were looking at you!
